Urbane Ash

Urbane Ash is a cool ash-grey velvet with a calm, uninterrupted surface. The nap creates subtle tonal movement across the swatch, rather than a printed motif.

About this fabric

Catalogued as Velvet, Urbane Ash has a softly brushed surface whose fine nap catches the light in slightly varied grey tones. Its ash colouring reads cool and muted, with a gentle depth that keeps the plain face from appearing flat. The close, even texture is suited to upholstered pieces where a quiet surface and restrained colour are preferred.

How to use it

Use Urbane Ash on a tailored sofa, armchair or headboard in a cool, contemporary scheme. Pair its blue-leaning grey with pale timber, chalky white or darker charcoal accents for layered contrast.

A quietly refined ash-grey velvet with a soft nap that gently shifts in the light.

Pairs well with

Urbane Ash is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
