One pattern-book room, 64 houses.

We have built long-standing relationships with our fabric houses over 29 years, which is what lets us put almost anything in front of you. 55,141 fabrics, wallpapers and paint colours from 43 of them are in the finder, tagged and searchable; the rest live as pattern books in the room at Heybridge.

The paint houses.

Little Greene and Coat Paints sell paint, not fabric, so they keep their own shelf here. Their 365 colours are in the finder beside the cloth, which is the point: the wall and the upholstery get chosen in the same afternoon.

The rest of the pattern-book room.

Fabric selection can be daunting: there is so much to choose from. We guide you through it, bringing as many or as few sample books as you want, until the fabric, the finish and the room all agree. We also keep beautiful remnant and end-of-roll pieces at the showroom, ideal for smaller projects.

Fabric house names and logos are the trade marks of their owners and are shown here to identify the collections we stock. Simon Houlding Upholstery is an independent workshop and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of them.

Customer's own fabric

We are happy to work with customer-supplied fabric. However, the customer is responsible for taking delivery of the fabric and thoroughly inspecting it for any flaws or defects. Any issues or defects must be brought to our attention prior to work commencing. If a return for replacement fabric is required as the result of an issue, this will be the responsibility of the customer, and any associated cost to be borne by the customer.
