About Ashley Wilde

Ashley Wilde was established in 1950 by Nick Brodin and is still a family business, now with three generations of the family behind it. It marked its seventy-fifth anniversary in 2025, under chairman Ashley Brodin and chief executive Simon Brodin.

The company works from a purpose-built head office in Hertfordshire of 52,000 square feet, holding the design studio and the distribution centre, with a further 51,000 square feet of storage and distribution elsewhere. Ashley Wilde and KAI are its own fabric brands, and the same in-house studio draws the bedding and accessory collections it makes under licensed names including Laura Ashley, Orla Kiely, Cath Kidston and Sophie Allport.

It has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise, and held the soft furnishings contract for the London 2012 Olympics.

This is a house we reach for when a room needs a plain that behaves. Every Ashley Wilde fabric in our library arrives with its composition, width, weight and country of origin published, and about half carry a Martindale figure as well, some of them rated for severe contract use. That is usually enough to say yes or no to a piece that gets sat on every day before the book comes out of the bag.
