About Fryetts

Fryett's has been a family business since 1954, based in Manchester, the historic centre of the British textile industry, at Marshall House on Rake Lane in Clifton. It is a converter and distributor rather than a mill: it designs and commissions cloth, then holds it in depth.

Fryett's is the origin brand of the company, covering contemporary and vibrant designs, novelty prints and versatile plains. Porter and Stone, which we also hold, is the same company's luxury brand, running from velvets to embroideries. Between them the two brands offer more than three thousand fabric options for curtains, blinds, upholstery and PVC, with the company reporting better than 95 per cent stock availability and next day delivery.

It also offers a certificated flame-retardant service to British Standard, for both commercial and residential work, which matters when a cloth a customer has fallen for does not come fire rated as woven.

Nineteen in twenty of the Fryett's fabrics in our library publish composition, width, pattern repeat and a care code. What is not published is a rub test, so for anything going on a seat we check the grade on the book first.
