About iliv
iliv is an independently owned British design house, founded in 1987 as part of the SMD Group and based in Lancashire, the historic home of British textiles. The trading company is S M D Textiles Limited, incorporated in March 1987 and registered at Fulwood in Preston.
Its in-house studio draws original prints, weaves and textures, working from contemporary trends, artist collaborations and the company's own archives. The range is built to serve both sides of the trade at once: retailers and designers doing domestic work, and specifiers working on hospitality, healthcare, workplace and leisure interiors. The company is a Planet Mark certified business, which commits it to measuring and reducing its environmental impact.
That double life shows in what iliv publishes. Every fabric in our library states its composition, usable width, upholstery grade and whether it can be treated for fire retardancy, and most of them add a Martindale figure, a colour fastness grade and an acoustic value as well. Very few houses at this price publish that much.
