About Swaffer

Swaffer started in 1973 with a husband and wife team, Anne and Robert Swaffer, and built its name on British prints. Since 2017 the business has been run by design director Janet Beaney-Smith and sales director Martin Jeffery, who have forty-eight years of service with the firm between them.

The showroom, offices and distribution are all on one site at Westminster Place on Empson Road in Peterborough. Alongside its own collections Swaffer carries the Belgian house Wind, founded by the De Zutter family in 1954.

One thing to know about the trading company. Companies House records the current Swaffer Limited, incorporated in September 2016, as being in a voluntary arrangement, and the older company, incorporated in 1974 and later named Anne and Robert Swaffer Limited, as dissolved in 2018. We hold their books and we mention this only because a customer choosing a fabric is entitled to the same information we have.
