About Jones Interiors

Jones Interiors is the odd one out on this roster, and worth explaining. It does not weave cloth. It makes the hardware a curtain hangs from: poles, tracks and blind systems, including made-to-measure services on all three.

It is the interiors arm of Jones and Co, founded in 1909 by a travelling textiles salesman, Charles Henry Jones, supplying buttons for ladies' garments. He worked out of two small cottages in Nottingham city centre; the business grew, came through the war years and in its heyday was selling 200 million buttons a year to the fashion industry. The interiors division was launched as a separate venture in the 1980s. The button division is still going, and runs one of the few remaining dye houses in the United Kingdom.

Jones now has around seventy staff in Nottingham, opened a Hong Kong office in 2006, and remains family owned with family members on the board. It sells only to the trade and not to consumers.

A curtain is only as good as what it hangs from. We measure, supply and fit the track or pole with the curtains, so the weight of an interlined pair is carried properly and nothing sags in the middle a year later.

The pattern books

Not in the digital library, in the room.

We hold this house in the pattern-book room rather than in the online finder, which covers the collections we have photographed ourselves. Come and turn the pages, or tell us the room and we will bring the books to you.
