About Villanova
The house writes its name as two words, Villa Nova, and was founded in 1993 with the philosophy of making modern, versatile fabrics, wallcoverings and accessories at a price people can actually reach. It is a division of The Romo Group with its own in-house design team.
The group behind it was founded in 1902 by Robert Mould, who started a small furniture manufacturing business in Nottingham, and is still family run in its fifth generation. It has over 370 employees, exports around seventy per cent of what it sells, and received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2017 for international trade. A Villa Nova collection takes between twelve and eighteen months to go from first concept to launch.
It is the most affordable of the Romo brands and the one we reach for on a whole house rather than a single piece, where a scheme needs coordinating fabric and wallcovering across several rooms without the budget going sideways.
