About this fabric

The fine sheer cloth has a cool white ground with soft grey, irregular lines that shift in clarity as light passes through the folds. Its 305 cm usable width makes it well suited to generous curtain drops, while the 104 gsm weight preserves the light, fluid appearance visible here. The design has a 115 cm vertical repeat and a 119 cm horizontal repeat, creating a broad abstract arrangement rather than a small-scale texture. With 51.5 threads per cm, the woven surface reads delicate and lightly structured against the bright window.

How to use it

Use this Chalk/First Light colourway as full-height curtains in a contemporary living room, where its cool white tone and pale-grey tracery can diffuse daylight without visually darkening the space. It also suits bedrooms needing privacy-softening layers that retain a fresh, sunlit feel.

Use this cool chalk-white sheer to soften strong daylight while keeping a bright, airy room feeling open.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Melodic Sheer Chalk/First Light without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
