Papier Lake

Papier Lake is a softly muted grey-green wallpaper with a finely woven appearance. Its understated surface shows delicate tonal shifts rather than a pronounced printed motif.

About this wallpaper

The colour sits between cool grey and softened green, giving the surface a calm, mineral depth. A fine crosshatched texture is visible throughout, with tiny changes in lightness that create the impression of closely woven fibres. The restrained pattern keeps the eye on the surface grain rather than a defined repeat. Papier Lake is catalogued as wallpaper, and no performance features are noted in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Use this subdued lake-toned grey-green on walls where a quiet, tactile backdrop is wanted, particularly alongside pale timber, stone and softly coloured furnishings. Its low-contrast texture can bring depth to a room without competing with artwork or patterned upholstery.

Use this quiet grey-green wallpaper to add softly layered texture without introducing a strong pattern.

Pairs well with

Papier Lake is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
