Kensey Slate

Kensey Fabric

Kensey Slate has a deep, cool grey ground with a finely structured surface that gives the colour noticeable depth. Subtle vertical tonal shifts keep the dark shade from reading as flat.

About this fabric

The close-up shows a dense, even weave with a tiny crosshatched texture and delicate light-and-dark variation across the surface. Its slate-grey tone sits between charcoal and blue-grey, creating a composed, modern appearance. Narrow vertical changes in the weave add quiet movement without forming a decorative motif. The substantial-looking texture and tailored finish make this colourway particularly well suited to upholstered furniture.

How to use it

Pair Kensey Slate with pale stone, chalky white or weathered timber to balance its cool depth. It would bring a restrained, architectural feel to a sofa, headboard or occasional chair.

Use this cool slate-grey weave to give upholstery a tailored, quietly architectural finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
