Salem Grey

Salem Fabric

Salem Grey presents a softly cool grey ground with a finely woven, irregular crosshatch that gives the surface gentle movement. Its restrained tonal variation reads as textured rather than patterned from a distance.

About this fabric

The close-up reveals a dense-looking weave built from fine horizontal and vertical threads, creating a delicate grid with naturally uneven definition. Cool grey and lighter grey fibres mingle across the surface, so the colour has more depth than a flat plain. The texture remains subtle and low-contrast, making this colourway feel calm and considered while retaining a tactile visual character. As a fabric with no performance features noted, its appeal here is the understated woven finish and soft grey tone.

How to use it

Use Salem Grey on a tailored armchair, sofa or dining seat where its cool neutral tone can balance warmer timber, cream upholstery and muted stone shades. The fine crosshatch also works well alongside plain cushions without introducing a strong competing motif.

A quietly textured cool grey for upholstered pieces where subtle surface detail is wanted.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
