Auriga Black/Gold

Fire-retardant Fabric002

Auriga Black/Gold reads as a deep black ground threaded with warm gold and oatmeal-coloured flecks. Its close, uneven weave creates a richly tactile surface with subtle tonal variation across the swatch.

About this fabric

The dense weave combines dark black threads with broken horizontal bands of muted gold, creating a softly varied, almost tweed-like effect rather than a flat colour. Small interlaced loops give the surface a dry, basket-like texture and catch the light without a glossy sheen. The overall tone is deep and grounded, while the warm gold detail prevents the black from feeling stark. This is catalogued as a Fabric in Dedar’s Fire-retardant collection; no composition, width, rub-test or performance features were supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use the black-and-muted-gold colourway on a tailored sofa, occasional chair or ottoman where its compact texture can be appreciated up close. Pair it with warm timber, antique brass and soft oatmeal textiles to draw out the gold threads without lightening its dramatic depth.

Its deep black ground and warm gold flecks bring graphic depth to upholstered seating, benches and accent cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
