Betulla Brown

Upholstery fabrics Fabric002

Betulla Brown has a dense, tactile-looking surface animated by irregular horizontal bands and small flecks of pale oatmeal, charcoal and deep brown. Its earthy depth gives the colourway a grounded, softly mottled appearance.

About this fabric

The swatch shows a substantial woven face with closely packed, nubby yarns arranged in broken horizontal rows rather than a flat, uniform stripe. Warm brown is the dominant tone, while charcoal and near-black flecks add contrast and the lighter oatmeal threads catch across the surface. This pronounced weave makes Betulla Brown well suited to upholstery, where its irregular texture can add visual depth to a chair or sofa. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Pair Betulla Brown with warm timber, aged leather and softly contrasting oatmeal textiles for a layered, earthy scheme. Its charcoal depth also works well against off-white walls or pale stone finishes.

Use this richly mottled brown weave to bring depth to upholstered seating and occasional chairs.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
