Upholstery fabrics Fabric001

Mappamundi Ficelle presents a softly warm taupe-beige ground, crossed by delicate, broken pale lines that suggest a lightly sketched map. Its fine woven texture gives the colourway a calm, natural depth.

About this fabric

The cloth is catalogued in Dedar’s Upholstery fabrics collection and has the substantial, closely woven appearance expected of a seating textile. A fine grid-like weave is visible across the surface, while irregular ivory marks and loose linear fragments create a restrained abstract pattern. Ficelle reads warmer and softer than a cool grey, with the pale lines catching the light gently against the muted taupe ground. No composition, width, rub test or other performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use this warm taupe-beige colourway on an occasional chair, sofa or headboard alongside light oak, linen-look neutrals and off-white detailing. Its pale linear markings add quiet visual movement without overpowering a softly layered room.

Pair the warm taupe ground with natural wood, chalky neutrals and softly aged finishes for a calm, tactile scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
