About this fabric

This velvet reads as a muted argile taupe, balanced between warm stone and gentle grey rather than a strongly brown beige. Its close, even pile gives the surface a fine, softly diffused texture, with slightly deeper shading towards the edges and nap. The plain construction keeps the colour at the forefront, while the low-key surface variation prevents it from looking flat. As a velvet, it has the visual weight and tactile softness associated with upholstered furniture.

How to use it

Pair this cool, clay-like taupe with chalky whites, putty neutrals and dark timber for a calm, layered scheme. It would suit a tailored armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its subtle nap can catch the light without introducing a bold pattern.

Use this softly toned taupe velvet to bring quiet depth to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
