About this fabric

The swatch is a velvet with a compact, subtly directional pile and no visible motif, allowing the Prugna colour to remain the focus. The tone sits between dark purple and red wine, reading richly saturated rather than pastel or muted. Gentle changes across the surface show where the nap catches the light, adding quiet tonal variation to the otherwise plain face. As a velvet fabric, it is particularly suited to upholstery where its dark plum depth can give seating a dramatic, enveloping presence.

How to use it

Use this deep plum-purple on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard, pairing it with warm timber, aged brass or soft neutrals to balance its intensity. Its wine-like depth also works well as a refined accent in darker, atmospheric rooms.

A rich plum velvet for dramatic upholstered seating and refined accent pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
