Kasia Carpet

Basalt has a deep charcoal-grey ground with cloudy tonal variation across the surface. Fine highlights catch the light, giving the dark colour a softly weathered, tactile character.

About this fabric

This Kasia colourway is visibly dense and substantial, with an irregular mottled texture rather than a drawn or geometric motif. Its near-black charcoal base is broken by subtle graphite-grey flecks and softly illuminated areas, preventing the surface from looking flat. The close, heavy-looking construction makes it better suited to upholstery than fluid drapery. No composition, width, rub test or additional performance specification has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Basalt on a statement chair, footstool or compact sofa where its cool charcoal depth can anchor pale stone, concrete-grey and warm timber tones. Its low-contrast texture also works well alongside brushed metal and softly patterned textiles.

A dense charcoal surface with subtle tonal variation, suited to schemes that need depth without a defined motif.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
