Mandalay Silk Carpet

Mercury is a deep charcoal-grey colourway with a softly mottled, close-textured surface. The near-black tone gives the swatch a quiet, tailored presence while fine changes in the surface keep it from appearing flat.

About this fabric

The image shows an even dark grey ground with subtle tonal shifts running across the finely textured face. Its dense, substantial appearance reads as more suited to upholstery than to lightweight drapery. Mercury is catalogued as Carpet; no composition, width, rub-test or performance figures have been supplied. The restrained surface has no visible motif, allowing the depth of the charcoal shade and its understated texture to carry the design.

How to use it

Use Mercury on a structured sofa, armchair or dining seat where its deep charcoal tone can anchor lighter walls, warm timber and brushed metal. It also suits tonal schemes built around graphite, soft grey and muted natural textures.

A deep charcoal surface with subtle texture, well suited to tailored upholstery and darker contemporary interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
