Grade Neptune is a deep charcoal-grey textile with closely drawn, light-catching chevrons arranged in vertical bands. Its dense woven surface gives the colour a softly variegated depth rather than a flat, solid appearance.

About this fabric

The design is formed from repeated V-shaped lines, creating a directional zigzag motif that shifts subtly between slate grey and near-black charcoal. Fine woven ridges and broken tonal marks soften the precision of the geometric pattern, giving the cloth a tactile, textural character. At 770 gsm, with 73 threads per centimetre, this is a substantial fabric suited to upholstery. It has a 139 cm usable width, while the pattern repeats every 31.8 cm vertically and 35 cm horizontally.

How to use it

Use Grade Neptune on a tailored sofa, dining chair or ottoman where its cool charcoal tone can ground pale timber, brushed metal and chalky neutral walls. The vertical chevron bands also suit a statement headboard or a pair of structured occasional chairs.

A substantial charcoal geometric with enough visual depth to anchor contemporary seating and occasional pieces.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Grade Neptune without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
