Perplex Sediment is a deep grey-olive woven fabric with closely spaced pale chevrons running in a precise vertical rhythm. Its subtly varied surface gives the cool, sediment-like ground more depth than a flat plain.

About this fabric

The fine zigzag pattern is formed by narrow light lines against a dark grey-olive ground, creating a restrained geometric texture with a smart, tailored character. With a 605gsm weight and 71 threads per centimetre, this is a dense, substantial cloth well suited to upholstery. The pattern repeat measures 4.1cm vertically by 8.6cm horizontally, keeping the chevron detail neat and easy to place across furniture. Its 131.5cm usable width provides practical coverage for upholstery projects, while the muted tone works as a quieter alternative to charcoal or brown.

How to use it

Use Perplex Sediment on a contemporary sofa, dining chair or occasional chair where its cool grey-olive depth can sit alongside natural timber, brushed metal and warm off-whites. The small chevron adds movement without competing with larger-scale pattern or strongly coloured accents.

Use this deep grey-olive chevron weave to give tailored upholstery a quiet, architectural edge.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Perplex Sediment without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
