Alchemy Slate

Alchemy Fabric

Alchemy Slate reads as a cool, silvery grey with a softly crumpled surface and a gentle reflective finish. The colour has a calm, urban feel, with darker shadows pooling in the folds of the cloth.

About this fabric

This fabric is composed of 56% Cotton and 44% Polyester and comes in a 140cm width, making it a practical cloth for made-up interiors. The surface in this colourway has a lightly textured, slightly lustrous look that catches the light without appearing shiny. Its slate-grey tone sits on the cooler side, with charcoal depth in the shadows and a softer pale grey lift across the highlights. With no pattern repeat, the visual interest comes from the fabric’s texture and the way the light breaks over the folds rather than from motif.

How to use it

Use Alchemy Slate where you want a restrained grey that still feels dimensional, especially on smart seating, cushions or relaxed curtains. It pairs neatly with black, white and weathered wood, and also gives depth to more tactile finishes like boucle or brushed metal.

A cool, textural grey that works well across tailored upholstery and softly structured curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
