Momentum 14 Fabrics FabricHAF0418-05

Translate Lead brings a cool, layered grey palette to Momentum 14, with charcoal marks crossing a soft grey ground in a loose, painterly grid. The irregular strokes give the surface a tactile, hand-worked character rather than a rigid geometric finish.

About this fabric

The colourway combines pale cool grey with deeper lead and charcoal strokes, creating clear tonal depth across the repeated abstract motif. Overlapping horizontal and vertical marks form an energetic pattern with a 32.5 cm vertical repeat and 35.2 cm horizontal repeat. At 205 gsm and 176 threads per cm, this 142 cm-wide fabric has a versatile mid-weight handle suited to both upholstery and drapery. The standard length is 40 m.

How to use it

Use Translate Lead to add a graphic note to a contemporary sofa, occasional chair or full-length curtain, where its cool grey ground can sit comfortably with blackened metal, pale timber and charcoal accents. The layered mark-making also works well as a restrained contrast against plain grey or stone upholstery.

A versatile mid-weight textile whose cool grey ground and charcoal brushwork bring graphic depth to upholstery or curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Translate Lead without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
