Translate Oyster

Momentum 14 Fabrics FabricHAF0418-03

Translate Oyster shows a pale oyster ground crossed by loose, translucent brush marks in soft grey-green and chalky greige. The overlapping strokes form an irregular, gently weathered grid, giving this light colourway a quiet sense of movement.

About this fabric

The abstract mark-making repeats across the cloth in broken horizontal and vertical bands, with areas of lighter ground showing through between the strokes. At 205 gsm and 176 threads per cm, it is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery applications. Its 142 cm usable width offers practical coverage, while the 32.5 cm vertical and 35.2 cm horizontal repeats keep the painterly structure visible without becoming dominant. In this Oyster colourway, the cool grey-green accents temper the warmth of the pale base for a soft, understated finish.

How to use it

Use the pale oyster and muted grey-green tones with limewashed timber, warm ivory upholstery or soft stone walls. The relaxed abstract grid works particularly well on occasional chairs, cushions and softly gathered curtains where its layered brushwork can be seen up close.

A calm, painterly neutral that brings soft movement to upholstery, cushions and curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Translate Oyster without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
