Otaka Chalk

Momentum 9 Fabrics FabricHAF0294-01

Otaka Chalk is a pale chalk-and-warm-grey woven design, with narrow broken vertical marks forming a tightly spaced, quietly irregular surface. Its low-contrast tonal shift keeps the 23.1cm-high by 35cm-wide repeat understated.

About this fabric

At 660gsm, Otaka Chalk has a substantial woven presence suited to upholstery, with a dense appearance that gives the pale colourway useful depth. The 140cm usable width and 30m standard length provide practical coverage for furniture projects. Its 23.1cm vertical repeat and 35cm horizontal repeat arrange the small, staggered marks into softly broken columns rather than a rigid stripe. A 65-threads-per-centimetre construction accompanies the close, lightly textured surface, while warm grey-beige flecks temper the chalk ground.

How to use it

Use Otaka Chalk on a tailored chair, sofa or headboard where its cool pale ground and warm-grey irregular marks can sit quietly alongside oak, limestone and soft taupe upholstery accents. Its restrained contrast is particularly effective when the fabric is seen across broad, clean upholstery panels.

A substantial chalk-toned weave with a softly irregular vertical motif for tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
