About this fabric

Distortion Velvet Tobacco/Slate/Clay is a substantial 416gsm velvet suited to upholstery, with a 134cm usable width. Its abstract pattern is formed from broken zigzags and pointed, ikat-like marks rather than regular geometric lines. Warm tobacco and clay accents are set against slate, charcoal and chalky cream, giving the colourway a grounded warmth tempered by cooler grey depth. The design has a 50cm vertical repeat and 44cm horizontal repeat, allowing the clustered motif to continue across upholstered surfaces.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard where its tobacco and clay warmth can balance the cooler slate ground. Bring out the cream marks with pale timber or textured neutral cushions, while charcoal details echo the darkest points in the pattern.

Pair the cool slate and charcoal with warm timber, tobacco leather or clay-toned accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
