Alana Chalk

Istra Fabric

Alana Chalk presents as an almost-white, cool chalk tone. Across the swatch, fine vertical threads create a quiet, lightly brushed texture rather than a visible pattern.

About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric with no performance features noted, Alana Chalk is defined here by its restrained woven surface. The colour sits close to white but has a softened chalk cast, avoiding the starkness of a brilliant white. Very fine vertical striations move through the swatch, giving the plain face a subtle thread-led depth as the light shifts across it. Its fine, fluid appearance makes it particularly suited to drapery where a calm, lightly textured finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use Alana Chalk for relaxed curtains in rooms with pale stone, light timber or soft grey upholstery, where its cool near-white tone can keep the scheme bright without looking harsh.

A cool, almost-white woven cloth for airy curtains and understated, textural interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
