Lewis II presents a softly weathered damask in warm beige, taupe and cream. Its scrolling foliage and ornate central forms are picked out through gentle tonal contrast rather than sharp colour change.

About this fabric

The design is a dense, symmetrical damask of curling leaves, floral flourishes and paisley-like forms, with the pale motifs emerging across a taupe-beige ground. Its muted warmth gives the pattern a calm, softly antique character, while the close tonal range keeps the elaborate drawing from feeling harsh. The surface appears subtly woven and textured, allowing the lighter details to catch the light across the swatch. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this warm beige and taupe colourway on a traditional armchair, dining chair or upholstered headboard, pairing it with ivory, mushroom and aged wood tones. Keep surrounding patterns restrained so the pale scrolling damask remains the room’s principal decorative detail.

A softly layered beige and taupe damask for classic upholstery with gentle tonal depth.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
