About this fabric

The close-up shows tightly packed horizontal rows with small irregularities that give the surface a tactile, woven character. Pale beige and oat-coloured threads sit alongside deeper taupe-brown flecks, creating quiet depth across the cloth. Light catches the raised threads unevenly, so the colour shifts gently between lighter sandy taupe and warmer shaded areas. No performance features are noted for this fabric; visually, its substantial-looking texture makes it a natural upholstery choice.

How to use it

Use Mitchell Taupe on an armchair, sofa or dining seat where its warm beige-taupe tone can soften darker wood, stone and softly contrasting neutral textiles. Its muted variation also works well with cream, oatmeal and earthy brown accents.

Use its warm taupe and oat variation to soften tailored seating and complement natural timber.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
