Makona Wallcovering Kaitoke

Tabala Wallcoverings Wallpaper

Makona Wallcovering Kaitoke pairs a near-black ground with large, painterly leaf forms in muted blue-green, ivory and burnt terracotta. The deep background gives the design a moody, graphic presence.

About this fabric

The charcoal-black ground dominates the image, allowing the softly brushed foliage to appear in strong relief. Broad leaves combine dusty teal, pale blue-grey and warm ivory, while irregular terracotta and rust strokes add concentrated flashes of colour. The visible artwork has a hand-painted quality, with uneven edges and layered brush marks rather than a crisp geometric repeat. Catalogued as wallpaper, this colourway brings a dark, expressive botanical statement to the wall.

How to use it

Use Kaitoke on a feature wall in a room with warm timber, aged brass or rust-toned upholstery to pick up its terracotta accents. Balance the dark ground with ivory textiles and muted teal accessories rather than bright, saturated colour.

A dramatic dark-ground botanical with painterly teal, ivory and terracotta leaves.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
