About this fabric
This Azara fabric by Jane Churchill is composed of 51% viscose, 42% linen and 7% polyester, with an approximate width of 128cm and a vertical repeat of 57cm and horizontal repeat of 64cm. The design shows stylised peacocks, scrolling stems and fan-shaped blooms in slate blue-grey, brick red, coral, ochre and soft taupe, all sitting clearly against the pale background. The overall effect is lively but not harsh, with the cooler slate notes keeping the warmer reds and oranges in balance. Its linen-rich blend gives the cloth a natural body that suits curtains as well as decorative upholstery, and the √BM fire code adds useful specification detail for contract or domestic schemes.
How to use it
Use it where you want pattern and colour without losing light: it works beautifully on a statement armchair, a headboard or full-length curtains against painted plaster walls. The slate and red palette sits well with oak, painted woodwork and muted coral or blue accents.
Pair with plain linens and warm woods to let the embroidered-style peacock motif stand out.

Pairs well with
Jaipur Peacock Slate/Red is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
