Kingston Carpet

Molasses is a deep, earthy taupe-brown colourway with a close, mottled surface that blends brown, grey and lighter mineral flecks. Its softly variegated appearance gives the swatch depth without introducing a defined pattern.

About this fabric

The dense carpet surface is finely granular, with irregular darker and lighter fibres creating a gently clouded effect across the warm brown-grey ground. Molasses reads as grounded rather than rich or glossy, with the taupe notes softening its darker brown base. Cormar lists Kingston in the Easy Clean category, making this colourway a practical choice where a textured, forgiving surface is wanted. The restrained, pattern-free appearance allows the subtle flecking to provide visual interest without becoming dominant.

How to use it

Use Molasses to anchor a room with oak, walnut or softly painted furniture, where its warm taupe-brown tone can sit comfortably between darker timber and pale neutrals. Its finely mottled surface is particularly effective where a plain carpet would feel too flat but a pronounced pattern would be too busy.

A dense, softly mottled taupe-brown surface with an earthy, quietly textured character.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
