About this colour

At #717A6E, Retrograde reads as a muted olive green with a clear grey undertone, so it feels restrained rather than fresh. It absorbs more light than it reflects, which gives walls a settled, enveloping look in flat matt or claypaint. In a north-facing room it can lean cooler and a little more slate-like, while in south light the warmer green-brown note comes forward. It works well beside oak, walnut and aged brass, and it has enough depth to sit comfortably with linen, wool and patterned upholstery in soft neutrals or darker botanicals.

How to use it
