Coat Paints

Pan

Greens Paint

Pan is a grounded olive green with a soft brown note, so it feels calm rather than bright. In Coat Paints’ Greens range, it sits in the more muted end of the spectrum.

About this colour

This shade reads as an earthy green with a warm, olive cast and enough grey in it to keep it steady on a wall. It takes light quietly rather than bouncing it back, so the colour feels fuller and more settled in low light. In a north-facing room, Pan can lean a little deeper and more mossy, with the brown undertone becoming more apparent. In south-facing light it warms up, showing more of its olive character without turning yellow. It works well beside natural oak, smoked timber, putty tones, deep browns and woven fabrics in clay, flax and stone colours.

How to use it

Pan suits sitting rooms, studies and panelled halls where you want a colour with weight and restraint. It pairs neatly with painted woodwork in soft white, dark bronze or the same green, and with upholstery in tawny leather, oatmeal and faded khaki.

Pan gives a wall a calm olive depth that feels warm and settled.
