About this colour

This shade reads as a muted mid green with warm brown undertones, so it feels settled rather than fresh. On a wall it absorbs more light than it reflects, giving rooms a calm, enclosed look without going too dark. In north-facing light it can turn more olive and shadowed, with its brown side becoming more apparent. In south-facing light the green comes forward a little more, but the colour still stays understated and grounded. It works well beside natural oak, painted joinery in off-white, and upholstered pieces in tobacco, rust, stone, or deeper green tones.

How to use it

King George suits sitting rooms, studies, and dining rooms where you want a quieter, more tailored feel. It is a strong choice for woodwork as well as walls, especially beside warm timber and classic patterned upholstery in muted, earthy colours.

A calm olive green that stays grounded on the wall.
