Jonah

Jonah is a grounded green with a clear grey note, giving it a quiet, settled look on the wall. It sits neatly within Coat Paints’ Greens range without feeling bright or leafy.

About this colour

At #7D7E6E, Jonah reads as an olive-leaning grey green, warm enough to feel lived-in but cool enough to stay restrained. In flat finishes it softens further, taking the edge off daylight and sitting close to the surface rather than reflecting much of it. In a north-facing room it can feel more slate-like and subdued, while south light brings out a steadier green and a little more warmth. It works well beside pale oak, walnut, blackened metal, and natural linens, where its muted tone gives those materials room to stand out.

How to use it

Jonah suits sitting rooms, studies, and dining spaces where you want colour that feels calm but not pale. It is also a strong choice for woodwork alongside cream walls, or for pairing with deep brown upholstery and textured neutral curtains.

Jonah gives walls a calm grey-green tone that feels settled rather than bright.

Order it with the cloth

A pot comes off the same order as the fabric, so the wall and the chair in front of it are chosen together. The making is ours: cut, sewn and fitted in our own Heybridge workshop, with Simon over every stage.
