About this colour
This shade reads warm and low-lit, with #62502A giving it a grounded olive-brown character that absorbs more light than it reflects. On walls, it will feel close and cocooning rather than bright, especially in flat matt, while eggshell and soft sheen will bring a little more clarity to the same colour on woodwork. In a north-facing room it can look deeper, cooler and more shaded, with the green note becoming quieter and the brown taking over. In south-facing light it warms up and shows more of its olive side, sitting well beside pale linens, tan leather, tobacco browns and muted moss greens. As a floor paint, it would read as a solid, practical dark earth tone rather than a clear green.
How to use it
Use it in a study, hallway or snug where you want walls or joinery to feel settled and enclosed. It works well with walnut, oak, blackened iron and upholstery in oatmeal, khaki or rust tones.
On a wall, The Tobacconist feels dark, warm and rooted, with a green-brown depth that changes gently with the light.
