Raw Taupe

Fabrics Fabric40

Raw Taupe presents a softly mottled taupe ground overlaid with dense charcoal-grey marks. Its intricate surface resembles a weathered grid of broken lines, blocks and loose crosshatching.

About this fabric

The colour sits between warm grey and muted beige, giving the swatch a softened, earthy depth rather than a clean stone-grey appearance. Charcoal-grey linear marks move across the surface in irregular horizontal and vertical bands, creating an abstract, distressed geometry. The close-set pattern gives this colourway a smart, graphic presence while the broken edges keep it from feeling severe. The visible textile has enough body to read as suitable for both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Use Raw Taupe on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtain where its warm grey-beige base can temper the sharper charcoal pattern. It works particularly well with pale timber, putty walls and deep grey detailing.

Pair the softened taupe ground with natural woods, chalky neutrals or charcoal accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Raw Taupe without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
