Herringbone Taupe

Strathspey Fabric

Herringbone Taupe has a softly shaded, warm grey-brown ground with a fine chevron weave running consistently across the cloth. Its restrained tonal variation gives the surface quiet depth without introducing a separate motif.

About this fabric

The closely woven herringbone catches the light in narrow alternating lines, making the taupe appear slightly deeper in the recesses and gently lifted on the raised weave. This is a textile SKU rather than a wallpaper, with a compact surface that visually suits both upholstery and drapery applications. No composition, width, rub-test or performance specification has been supplied for this colourway. The overall effect is tailored and understated, with enough woven movement to prevent the warm taupe from reading flat.

How to use it

Pair this warm grey taupe with chalky creams, weathered timber and muted olive for a calm, tailored scheme. Its fine herringbone texture also works well against plain linen, brushed metal or softly patterned upholstery.

Use this quietly warm taupe herringbone to add tailored texture to upholstery, cushions or structured window treatments.

Pairs well with

Herringbone Taupe is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
