About this fabric

The close woven texture appears compact and nubby, with subtle flecks of charcoal, taupe and warm grey rather than a flat single tone. Its restrained colour reads earthy and shadowed, while scattered lighter fibres prevent the surface from looking severe. This fabric is part of the Hermitage Castle Undyed Wools collection, and no performance features are noted for this exact fabric. The substantial-looking weave makes it particularly suited to upholstery where a calm, textured finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use this brown-grey colourway on a sofa, armchair or footstool to create a grounded, understated foundation. Pair it with warm timber, aged leather and muted stone shades to draw out its earthy undertones.

Its dense, softly mottled surface brings quiet depth to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
