About this fabric

The swatch shows a dense, small-scale weave built from cool grey, warm beige and charcoal threads, creating a softly variegated surface rather than a flat block colour. Short, raised fibres add a dry, nubby texture that visually suggests a substantial upholstery cloth. As part of Isle Mill’s Hermitage Castle Undyed Wools collection, the natural variation of the undyed wool character is central to this colourway’s muted, mineral tone. No performance features are noted for this fabric, so suitability should be assessed against the requirements of the intended project.

How to use it

Use Duffus on a tailored armchair, sofa or footstool where its stone-grey tone can soften timber, chalky neutrals and warm natural materials. The oatmeal flecks help it sit comfortably with both pale linens and deeper charcoal accents.

A substantial, nubby grey wool-look weave for quietly textured upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
