Chambray Chiffon

Chambray Fabric11

Chambray Chiffon reads as a soft, pale mist grey with a cool, chalky cast and a very fine herringbone-like weave. The surface is low-contrast and quietly textured, giving the colourway a calm, airy look.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a delicate grey ground with barely-there tonal variation, so the weave detail rather than the colour makes the statement. The fabric is specified as a print and weave with 23 patterns in the Chambray collection, and this one feels especially restrained and refined in the hand. Its 47% polyester, 46% BCI cotton and 7% linen composition gives the cloth a natural, lightly crisp look while still being practical for heavy domestic use. With a Martindale result of 30,000 and a supplied back coating to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, it is well suited to everyday seating where a pale, understated finish is wanted. Professional dry clean in situ is recommended.

How to use it

Use this pale grey beside warm oak, plaster pinks or deeper charcoal accents to keep the room feeling light without going cold. It is also a good choice for tailored blinds or loose covers where the subtle herringbone texture can be seen in daylight.

A quiet, versatile grey with a subtle herringbone lift that works across tailored upholstery and soft window dressing.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
