About this fabric

Woven in 62% polyester and 38% cotton, this Chamonix colourway has a practical, upholstery-friendly handle with a subtle grain visible across the surface. The 35,000 Martindale rating and Heavy Domestic usage make it well suited to everyday seating, while the back-coated BS5852 cigarette and match rating adds reassurance for contract or home use. In the swatch, Smoke appears as a dense, dusky charcoal-grey with a gentle heathered effect rather than a flat black tone. Its matt, low-sheen finish keeps the look refined and makes the texture feel warm and tailored.

How to use it

Use Chamonix Smoke on sofas, armchairs or banquettes where you want a dark neutral that feels softer than black. It pairs neatly with pale oak, concrete, off-white linen and brushed metal for a crisp, modern scheme.

A muted charcoal plain that works well on tailored seating and clean-lined interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
