About this fabric

This taupe colourway sits in the warmer end of the neutral range, with a brown-grey cast that feels grounded rather than stark. The plain weave and subtle surface texture visible in the swatch give it a quiet, cloth-like character that works well on furniture. Made from 62% polyester and 38% cotton, it is specified for Heavy Domestic use and has a Martindale rub count of 35,000, making it a practical choice for everyday seating. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request, and the aftercare advises Professional Dry Clean in situ.

How to use it

Use this colour to soften angular upholstery, or pair it with walnut, chalk white and woven textures for a warm, restrained scheme. Its muted taupe tone also makes a strong backdrop for deeper greens, oxblood accents or brushed metal finishes.

A calm neutral with subtle texture, ideal for tailored sofas and softly layered schemes.

Pairs well with

Chamonix Taupe is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
