About this fabric

The design is formed from broken horizontal and vertical blocks, with small warm beige flecks interrupting the predominantly charcoal and black ground. The close, raised-looking weave creates visible rhythm across the swatch, while the mixed dark tones give the surface depth rather than a flat black appearance. This fabric is catalogued as part of Dedar’s Fire-retardant collection, although no composition, width, rub-test or additional performance figures have been supplied for this exact colourway. Its substantial-looking woven character makes it best suited to upholstery applications.

How to use it

Pair Dilmun Lava with warm timber, aged brass and quiet stone shades to soften its charcoal-black depth. It works particularly well on a contemporary armchair, headboard or occasional sofa where the geometric weave can be seen close up.

Use this substantial dark weave to bring graphic definition and warm contrast to contemporary upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
