Darwinista Fenicottero

Velvet fabrics Velvet005

Darwinista Fenicottero presents a dusky rose-pink ground crossed by pale, hand-drawn-looking geometric lines. The layered tracery gives the velvet a softly graphic character, while the muted colour keeps the overall impression warm and composed.

About this fabric

This Dedar velvet is coloured in a subdued fenicottero pink, with the surface reading as rose rather than bright coral or saturated magenta. Pale cream-pink lines form irregular stepped contours, angular fragments and rounded forms across the face of the fabric. The close-set linear pattern creates visible movement and depth, with the velvet texture gently softening the contrast between the motif and its ground. As a velvet fabric, it is particularly suited to upholstery where its tactile surface and medium-scale pattern can be appreciated at close range.

How to use it

Use this muted rose colourway on a compact armchair, headboard or occasional sofa, pairing it with chalky neutrals and pale timber for a softened modern scheme. Darker brown or burgundy accents can bring out the deeper warmth in the pink ground.

A dusky rose velvet with pale contour lines that bring graphic definition to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Darwinista Fenicottero without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
