About this fabric

This swatch is a velvet with a dense-looking pile and an intensely dark malachite ground. Bright teal-green lines form angular contour bands, stepped pathways and outlined circular shapes across the surface. The tightly repeated geometry has a technical, almost circuit-like character, while the directional velvet pile shifts subtly between green-black shadow and clearer emerald highlights. The strong contrast between ground and motif makes this colourway feel especially rich and graphic.

How to use it

Use Darwinista Malachite for an accent chair, ottoman or statement sofa in a room with warm timber or pared-back neutral furnishings, allowing the saturated green and teal pattern to lead.

Use this deep malachite velvet on statement upholstery where its teal linework and changing pile sheen can be seen up close.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
