Cosima Cyprus is a very deep forest green velvet with a low, shadowy sheen and subtle tonal movement across the pile. The surface reads almost black in the darker areas, then lifts to green where the light catches it.

About this fabric

This colourway of Cosima Velvet II has the rich, moody depth you expect from a true velvet, with a dark green cast that sits close to black until the pile is turned in the light. It is woven in 56% viscose and 44% cotton, with an approximate width of 140cm and no visible repeat, which keeps the surface calm and continuous. The pile has a softly brushed, slightly mottled appearance rather than a high-gloss finish, giving the shade a quiet, luxe character. With no performance features noted, it is best treated as a decorative velvet for upholstered pieces where its depth and texture can be appreciated.

How to use it

Use it on an upholstered armchair, ottoman or banquet seating to bring a room a dark, cocooning green that changes subtly with the light. It also works well against walnut, aged brass and warm stone tones for a layered, tailored scheme.

Pair with oak, brass and pale neutrals to let the velvet’s dark green sheen stand out.
