About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler velvet is made from 56% viscose and 44% cotton, with a width of approximately 140cm and no repeat, which suits its plain, unbroken appearance. In this colourway, the pile catches the light unevenly, creating a burnished brick-red surface with darker russet and oxblood depths. The overall effect is warmer and more subdued than a bright red, with a slightly antique character that feels especially refined in velvet. With √CM fire coding noted, it is a practical choice for upholstery projects where a rich colour and soft handle are both wanted.

How to use it

Use this shade on a classic armchair, sofa cushions, or a tailored headboard to bring warmth without glare. It pairs well with walnut, aged brass, and deep green accents for a layered, traditional scheme.

A rich brick tone that feels tailored and warm on chairs, ottomans, or cushions.

Pairs well with

Cosima Brick Red is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
