Emmeline Red

Cristabel FabricF4775-03

Emmeline Red is a richly patterned floral linen with a warm, faded red ground that gives the design an aged, softly lively character. The multicoloured blooms and leaves sit clearly against the backdrop without feeling sharp or glossy.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen and measuring approximately 140cm wide, Emmeline Red has the relaxed handle and natural surface you would expect from a textile with this kind of printed detail. The repeat is approximately V 73cm / H 140cm, so the design reads as a broad, expansive floral with plenty of movement across the width. In this colourway, the red ground is warm and slightly softened rather than bright, which helps the pinks, greens, creams and small accents of yellow and teal stand out. The overall effect is decorative and layered, with the linen texture keeping the look from becoming too formal. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √CM are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use it for curtains, cushions or a statement chair in rooms that can take a strong red anchor. It works especially well with painted wood, aged brass and muted greens, which echo the softer tones in the print.

Use for statement curtains or decorative upholstery where the rich red ground can carry the pattern.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
